KUALA LUMPUR: Ranhill Holdings Bhd’s subsidiary is teaming up with Indah Water Konsortium Sdn Bhd (IWK) to undertake the joint review for the joint billing exercise for water supply and sewerage services in Johor.
Ranhill said on Thursday its SAJ Holdings Sdn Bhd and IWK billing exercise is a prelude to a plan to pursue the integration of water supply and sewerage services in Johor.
The MoU would however exclude Johor Bahru City and Pasir Gudang which are managed by their own city councils.
“The company’s proposed initial phase of the joint billing exercise is to have a combined bill incorporating the prevailing water supply tariff rate and sewerage tariff rate in a single bill with an agreed fee payable to SAJ by IWK for every joint bill issued by SAJ,” it said.
Ranhill added the joint billing exercise will be subject to final approval from the relevant authorities.
“Upon implementation of the initial phase, the parties shall pursue towards volumetric tariff followed by complete integration of water supply and sewerage operations.
“The MoU will enable the company to review the joint billing exercise for the implementation,” it said.
