KUALA LUMPUR: Bumi Armada Bhd, which in December 2013 bagged a 10-year, US$262mil (RM1.13bil) contract from Russia’s Lukoil-Nizhnevolzhskneft Ltd, has been given additional scope of work valued at US$134mil (RM575.6mil).
In a filing with Bursa Malaysia, the offshore energy facility and service provider said its unit Bumi Armada Caspian LLC (BAC) had inked a supplementary agreement with Lukoil for additional engineering, procurement, construction and installation (EPCI) scope.
The additional scope will involve BAC’s marine spread to lay subsea pipelines and undertake post trenching and back-filling works on sections of the Filanovsky field in the Russian sector of the Caspian Sea.
The works on the 20km of various pipelines will involve the Armada Installer and Armada Constructor vessels, and are expected to be completed in the second half of 2018.
In 2013 Bumi Armada was given a contract to provide three ice-class vessels to service offshore platforms in the Filanovsky field.
That contract also came with options for extensions of up to 20 years, estimated to be worth US$483mil (RM2.07bil).
Commenting on the latest win, Bumi Armada chief executive officer Leon Harland said in a press statement: “Bumi Armada has been working with Lukoil in the Caspian since 2012 and this supplemental agreement highlights the continuing strong working relationship with our client, and our proven track-record to deliver high quality subsea construction services in the Caspian Sea."
