Conference to boost Malaysia-China entreprenuer ties

The 7th Malaysia-China Entrepreneur Conference (MCEC) is inspired by China

KUALA LUMPUR: The 7th Malaysia-China Entrepreneur Conference (MCEC) – inspired by China’s strategic economy development initiative “One Belt One Road” – will be held on Nov 25.

Organised by the Malaysia-China Chamber of Commerce (MCCC), the theme of the annual conference this year is “The Road”, indicating a passageway, access, and network to opportunities.

The conference, which will be held at the Putrajaya International Convention Centre (PICC), is a platform to promote and deepen the pragmatic cooperation between the governments and small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) of China and Malaysia.

MCEC 2017 will focus on business matching with dedicated venues for each of the 7 major matching industries, namely, real estate and construction, technology, agriculture, medical and health, service industry (education and logistics),  Halal products, as well as manufacturing.

The conference aims to bring and strengthen Malaysia’s businesses across China and simultaneously entice businesses from China into Malaysia, creating a two-way beneficial trading economy. It  will be moderated English and Chinese to attract a diverse pool of Malaysian enterprises.

MCEC 2017 also focuses on the diversity and efficiency of business matching by arranging one to one matching, networking session, specialised session, and products exhibition session.

The business matching sessions would not be confined to entities between China and Malaysia, it could also be between two Malaysian units.

“Over the years, Malaysia has developed a strong bilateral relationship with China especially in the economic scene.

“We witnessed China become Malaysia’s largest trading partner for eight consecutive years and with MCEC 2017, our ultimate goal is to open new doors for Malaysian enterprises, especially SMEs to go beyond local and carve their names  internationally,” said MCEC 2017 organising chairman and MCCC fifth youth council chairman Bryan Chong.

Currently, 650 local business representatives and 250 Chinese enterprises have signed up for MCEC 2017.

In addition, many Chinese enterprises in Malaysia have confirmed their participation in the business matching sessions, including the Malaysia branch of China Railway Group Ltd (CREC), China First Metallurgical Group (CFMCC), Kuala Lumpur branch of China Railway Rolling Stock Corp (CRRC) and China Machinery Engineering Corp (CMEC).

MCEC 2017 is now open for public registration. Registration fee for Malaysian participants is RM700 for a full day event, which comprises participation fee, one-to-one business matching, networking and a gala dinner.
