KUALA LUMPUR: Pos Malaysia Bhd said a unit, Pos Aviation Sdn Bhd, has awarded PST Ventures Sdn Bhd a RM8mil contract to provide security and technology services at the former low-cost carrier terminal (LCCT).

The contract is part of the refurbishment work to transform the site into a fully functional e-commerce operation by middle of 2018.

Pos Malaysia, in a filing with Bursa Malaysia on Thursday,  said PST Ventures proposed solutions were to update the information and communication technology (ICT) infrastructure at the site, as well as security services that met Lazada’s and Pos Aviation’s requirements.

PST is owned by Syed Azmin Syed Nor, a brother of Tan Sri Syed Mokhtar Syed Nor Al-Bukhary, who is a major shareholder of Pos Malaysia and DRB-Hicom Bhd.

DRB-Hicom is the holding company of Pos Malaysia.

Pos Aviation has a tenancy agreement with Malaysia Airports Holdings Bhd to operate the former LCCT for three years with an option to renew the tenancy for three renewal terms of three years each.
