MB World JV plans RM100m waterfront property project in Johor

KUALA LUMPUR: MB World Group Bhd’s unit is teaming up with PIJ Holdings Sdn Bhd to undertake an integrated waterfront development over nearly 50 acres of leasehold land in Johor.

MB World said on Tuesday its unit Danga Palm Sdn Bhd (DPSB) had signed a development rights agreement with PIJ Property Development Sdn Bhd.

Under the agreement, DPSB will undertake the waterfront development on all that leasehold land in Plentong covering 49.62 acres including the 15 acres belonging to the government.

The development will be carried out over several staggered phases into a mixed development consisting of both commercial and residential components among others.

They include serviced apartments, affordable houses, townhouses, shop offices and a shopping mall.

Phase one will be an affordable housing project – or Rumah Mampu Milik Johor -- known as Taman Perbadanan Islam Telok Permata on 15 acres. 

 PIJ Property Development will be entitled to receive from DPSB 7% of the gross development value (GDV) of the project of not less than RM100mil.
