AirAsia to get RM360m from sale of stake in ground handling unit


ISG executive director Datuk Azmi Murad said the airport had been in constant talks with Malaysia Airlines and AirAsia to consider the ISG for its Istanbul route.

PETALING JAYA: AirAsia Bhd completed the corporate exercise between its ground handling unit and that of Singapore’s SATS Ltd (SATS), a move that will see the low cost carrier realise some RM360.29mil (S$119.3mil).

Under the exercise, AsiAsia’s Ground Team Red Holdings Sdn Bhd (GTRH) will acquire a 80% stake in SATS Ground Services Singapore Pte Ltd. 

In return, SATS Ground Services Singapore will get 11.14% stake in GTRH.

Further to the exercise, AirAsia will dispose 38.6% in GTRH to SATS for S$119.3mil.
