KUALA LUMPUR: Sime Darby Property Bhd’s plans for the year is to focus on the key townships that it plans to develop, particularly City of Elmina in Shah Alam.
However, the company is mindful of the current market conditions and will launch its products accordingly.
Speaking at the sidelines of Invest Malaysia 2018, Sime Darby Property managing director Amrin Awaluddin said Klang Valley remains as the main focus location, subject to the right products.
“There is still strong demand for certain products in certain locations.
“For example, the average take-up rate in City of Elmina is 70% to 80%,” he said, adding that the company intends to enhance its projects’ total gross development value (GDV) to beyond RM100bil.
In addition, the company will continue with its strategy to rationalise its 21,000 acres of land, via developments, joint ventures, or strategically monetise the land.
Amrin said Sime Darby Property shall announce its sales target for the year soon.
