GENTING HIGHLANDS: South Korea’s largest fried chicken chain, NeNe Chicken, which opened its first outlet in Genting Highlands, intends to open a few more outlets in the country.

“While Sky Avenue will be the first NeNe Chicken restaurant in Malaysia, plans are underway to open more NeNe Chicken restaurants from 2018 to 2020.

“We will have a few more stores in 2018 if we can secure the right locations, the plan is to have 20 stores which includes East Malaysia by 2020. I am happy to announce that our next location will be at Starling Mall, Damansara Uptown and we hope to have that location operational by the first quarter of 2018.

“We are confident of meeting this deadline and we look forward to delighting our customers in Petaling Jaya very soon!” NeNe Chicken Malaysia managing director  Raymond Wong said in a statement.

The opening of the outlet at Sky Avenue in Genting Highlands marked the fourth country in the world to have a NeNe Chicken restaurant after Australia, Singapore and Hong Kong.

“NeNe Chicken has been so well received in the countries it has operated in, and when the opportunity came to bring it to Malaysia, we immediately said yes! yes!

“We look forward to delighting our customers with not just only our food, but also our core values on the benefits of eating well and working with the community around us to create harmony and happiness.” Wong said.

Founded by C.H.Hyun in 1999, NeNe Chicken rise to become one of the favourite fried chicken chains was based on its all natural ingredients, fresh and wholesome tasting chicken.

“The growth in these countries would not be possible with great partners. ST Group has been instrumental in not only expanding the franchise in Australia but maintaining the NeNe Chicken experience for our customers. Their ability and experience gave us confidence in expanding to Malaysia and we look forward to them enjoying NeNe Chicken.” NeNe Chicken Korea chairman Chul Ho Hyun.

The expansion to Malaysia is a joint effort between NeNe Chicken Korea and ST Group. ST Group has been instrumental in the expansion of NeNe Chicken to 12 locations in Australia since 2015.
