On Bursa Malaysia it is going to be the year of the underdogs

The research house said this was largely because the FBM KLCI has generally yielded positive returns in the three-month periods up to the past election polling dates, apart from robust headline economic indicators which support the ringgit and investment sentiment. The GE14 is widely expected to be held in March or April next year.

PETALING JAYA: Fortune may still favour the underdogs on Bursa Malaysia this year, as more agile smaller companies are again expected to outperform their bigger and pricier counterparts.

The FTSE Bursa Malaysia KL Composite Index (KLCI) entered 2018 at 1,780 points and quickly surged to as high as 1,870 points, before succumbing to a huge selling pressure in the first week of February.
