Toyo Ink surges to multi-year high, prompts Bursa query


Temporary anti-dumping measures on ethanolamine products produced in the Malaysia, Saudi Arabia, Thailand and the United States is also being introduced.

KUALA LUMPUR: Toyo Ink Bhd's share price surged to multi-year high of RM1.08 at midday on Thursday, prompting Bursa Malaysia Securities to query it over the unusual market activity.

At midday, Toyo Ink, which manufactures printing inks for the printing and packaging industries, was up 24 sen to RM1.02 with 4.61 million shares done.

Its warrants jumped 12 sen to 12.5 sen with 123 million units done.

The FBM KLCI was down 1.35 points or 0.07% to 1,856.82. Turnover was 1.48 billion shares valued at RM841.63mil. There were 340 gainers, 450 losers and 388 counters unchanged.

The latest corporate news was on Feb 5 when it announced Vietnam's  Ministry of Natural Resources and Environment had approved its environmental impact assessment report of the Song Hau 2 thermal power plant project.

The project will be built on a 117.39ha site with a capacity of 2X1060 MW.
