IRB takes legal action against Destini over unpaid tax bill

Companies that provide short-term consumer loans at high interest rates are on the increase in countries like Indonesia and the Philippines as many people struggle to get advances through traditional channels such as banks.

KUALA LUMPUR: The Inland Revenue Board (IRB) is taking legal action against Destini Bhd over RM6.58mil in outstanding tax and penalties for assessment year 2016.

Destini, the defence services provider, told the stock exchange today that it was served on Monday with a writ of summon dated April 29 and statement of claim dated April 22 by the IRB.
