Petronas appoints Ainul Azhar to its board


KUALA LUMPUR: Petroliam Nasional Bhd (Petronas) has appointed Ainul Azhar Ainul Jamal to its board of directors.

According to a press statement issued by Petronas, Ainul Azhar was previously the chairman and director of Schlumberger Malaysia.

During his 32-year employment with Schlumberger he served in various technical and managerial roles in Indonesia, France and Canada.

He also held various senior management positions including corporate communications director of Shlumberger Ltd in London as well as headed Group Human Resource for Schlumberger WesternGeco and Reservoir Management Group. 

He was chairman of Schlumberger Asia Pacific from 2010 to June 2013.

"The Petronas Board is confident that his knowledge and experience will be a valuable addition to the organisation," it said in the statement.
