Two FGV officials among 11 candidates for CEO, says Azhar

The board is investigating six matters on FGV

KUALA LUMPUR: There are 11 candidates who are in the running for the post of chief executive officer for FGV Holdings Bhd, said its chairman Datuk Wira Azhar Abdul Hamid.

He said on Tuesday two of them are from FGV and the rest external candidates.

“The CEO position will be decided soon as we need the leader for the company,” Azhar told reporters on the sidelines of the Malaysia: A New Dawn investors’ conference.

When asked if there was a likelihood that a foreign candidate be appointed CEO, he replied:

“We are open (to options) but we prefer a local candidate”.

The CEO position in FGV was left vacant after Datuk Zakaria Arshad resigned on Sept 18, following his suspension on Sept 13.
