US fund Numeric Investor substantial shareholder in Dayang


Dayang managing director Tengku Datuk Yusof Tengku Ahmad Shahruddin said the contract win was a significant milestone for the Dayang group to bring the company to greater heights by leveraging on its market leading expertise in topside major structural maintenance and hook-up commissioning on engineering, procurement, construction and commissioning (EPCC) services

KUALA LUMPUR: US-based fund Numeric Investor LLC is a substantial shareholder in Dayang Enterprise Holdings Bhd with a 6.07% stake or 58.6 million shares.

Filings with Bursa Malaysia showed on Monday that Numeric Investor emerged as a substantial shareholder in the oil and gas services provider on April 23 when it owned 5.19% or 50.125 million shares.

It continued to raise its stake though the purchase of 8.483 million shares from the open market and raised its shareholding in the company to 6.07% or 58.609 million shares.

According to the filings, Numeric Investor acts as the discretionary investment manager for various funds. 

In that capacity, it has the discretion to deal with all the shares held by the funds and to exercise the votes attached to some of the shares. 

Dayang's share price fell six sen to RM1.34 at midday on Monday.
