Nestle posts net profit of RM156.9m, declares 70 sen dividend

KUALA LUMPUR: Nestle (Malaysia) Bhd recorded a 5.6% decline in net profit to RM156.9mil for the second quarter ended June 30, 2019, as compared the same quarter last year due to an increase in marketing investment as well as negative impact from exchange rates and commodity prices.

"The quarterly profitability, whilst remaining strong, has been impacted by the phasing of our marketing spending as well as some one-off warehousing expenses in preparation for the factory expansion in Chembong," said Nestle Malaysia CEO Juan Aranois.
