Petronas reports lower earnings in FY amid challenging conditions

KUALA LUMPUR: Petroliam Nasional Bhd (Petronas) reported a decline in profit after tax (PAT) of RM40.5bil in the financial year ended Dec 31,2019 amid challenging market conditions with continued pressure on commodity prices and margins.

Petronas president and group CEO Tan Sri Wan Zulkiflee Wan Ariffin said the year remained difficult as the industry continued to be marred by consistent and prolonged volatility.
