AmInvest Research expects 25bps cut in OPR at May meeting


As for Alliance Bank, AmInvest Research sees that the stock is already trading at a low P/BV of 0.4 times (crisis trough valuation) while its foreign shareholdings have declined to a low to 21.3% in February 2020.

KUALA LUMPUR: AmInvestment Research expects the Overnight Policy Rate (OPR) to be cut by 25 basis points during Bank Negara Malaysia’s Monetary Policy Committee (MPC) meeting on May 5.

In its research note issued on Thursday, it said following the 25bps OPR cut to 2.50% on March 3, it continues to observe a drop in the three-month KLIBOR rate to 2.78%.
