Axiata settles dues in Nepal


Axiata said it would get a permanent injunction against any further attempts to collect CGT from its 80% owned unit in Nepal, Ncell Pte Ltd.

PETALING JAYA: After four years of disputes and courtroom battles, Axiata Group Bhd has finally settled all outstanding amounts pertaining to the capital gains tax (CGT) and interest in Nepal even though it paid “under protest and expressly without prejudice.’’

Axiata said it would get a permanent injunction against any further attempts to collect CGT from its 80% owned unit in Nepal, Ncell Pte Ltd.
