Sarawak sees three-fold increase in exports by 2030

Anticipating Sarawak’s exports to grow by three times in 10 years to 2030, Johari said Sarawak would be less reliant on liquified natural gas (LNG) exports, and would move up the value chain to produce high value-added petrochemical or finished products.

KUCHING: Sarawak expects a three-fold increase in its exports by 2030 when the state will become a net food exporter.

Chief Minister Datuk Patinggi Abang Johari Tun Openg (file pic below) said in order to achieve a high income and advanced state by 2030, Sarawak needs to grow at 8% annually to double the size of its economy from RM133bil in 2018 to RM282bil.
