Malaysia's labour productivity grew by 2.1% in 2019, MPC says


The construction sector’s labour productivity by value per employment grew by 3.3 per cent to RM45,293, according to National Productivity Report 2020.

KUALA LUMPUR: Malaysia recorded a labour productivity growth of 2.1 per cent to RM93,973 in 2019 from RM92,018 in 2018, contributing to the country’s gross domestic product (GDP) gowth of 4.3 per cent in 2019, says the Malaysia Productivity Corp (MPC).

In terms of labour productivity by value-added per hour, the MPC in its National Productivity Report 2020 said growth was 2.2 per cent in 2019 compared with 3.4 per cent in 2018.
