AirAsia travellers must pay to check in at counters


AirAsia Group chief operations officer Javed Malik said the fees would help motivate travellers to make use of the airline’s digital technology.

SYDNEY: AirAsia will start charging customers fees to check in at airport counters, the cash-strapped budget airline has announced.

It said the move was in part to encourage customers to minimise physical contact with staff during the pandemic.
