Small and medium enterprises (SMEs) will be given stamp duty exemptions on any instruments executed for merger and acquisition (M&A) activities to enhance their capacity.

KUALA LUMPUR: Small and medium enterprises (SMEs) will be given stamp duty exemptions on any instruments executed for merger and acquisition (M&A) activities to enhance their capacity.

The Entrepreneur Development and Cooperatives Ministry (MEDAC) via SME Corp Malaysia is implementing this initiative with the cooperation of the Inland Revenue Board and the Securities Commission. It is aimed at mitigating the impact of the Covid-19 pandemic on the SMEs by enhancing their access to funding and valuable assets.
