Maybank claiming RM113.9m from Scomi Group


The claimed sum originally arose due to the default in payment to Maybank by Scomi Rail, which was wound-up on May 6,2019 with a receiver and manager appointed on May 9.

KUALA LUMPUR: Malayan Banking Bhd has served a writ of summons on Scomi Group Bhd seeking RM113.95mil following a default in payment by an indirect subsidiary, Scomi Rail Bhd.

Scomi Group said on Tuesday Maybank was claiming the amount together with interest at 3.5% per annum above the bank’s base lending rate on a monthly rest and compounded monthly until full settlement of about RM22.77mil.
