Busy year for telecom sector


In terms of the Big Three celcos, Maxis Bhd remains the leader in the postpaid market (39% subscriber share) while DiGi.Com Bhd keeps a stronghold in the prepaid front (40% subscriber share).

PETALING JAYA: Less downside pressure on average revenue per user (arpu) is expected for the telecom sector over the next few quarters with the overall increase in activity.

Kenanga Research said this could translate to more meaningful arpu numbers as more consumers’ outdoor movement could lead to less indoor/broadband dependency for data needs.
