TOKYO: The recycling of high-capacity batteries used in electric vehicles (EVs) is gaining traction as a business opportunity, because they can still be used for other purposes even after they have degraded and can no longer power a vehicle.

As Nissan Motor Co and Mitsubishi Motors Corp started mass-producing EVs more than 10 years ago, battery replacement cycles have already started to kick in.
