Govt has channeled RM20.941bil through wage subsidy programme

KUALA LUMPUR: The government has channelled RM20.941 billion to 357,948 employers through the Wage Subsidy Programme (WSP) as of Aug 5 to maintain the employment of 2.96 million local workers.

Finance Minister Tengku Datuk Seri Zafrul Tengku Abdul Aziz said under WSP 1.0, a total of 322,177 employers and 2.64 million workers have received WSP benefits as of Aug 5 under the Prihatin Rakyat Economic Stimulus package (PRIHATIN) and the National Economic Recovery Plan (PENJANA).
