KWAP appoints Haizad Rizal as CFO, Maz Mirza as CDO effective Oct 3


KUALA LUMPUR: Retirement Fund Incorporated (KWAP) has appointed Haizad Rizal A Aziz (pic, above) as its new chief financial officer (CFO) and Maz Mirza Mohd Aminurashid (pic, below) as the chief digital officer (CDO) effective Oct 3, 2022.

In a statement today, it said Haizad Rizal’s vast experience spanned over 20 years, where he possessed extensive expertise in corporate decision-making, business improvement, development of financial strategies, driving transformation and fiscal responsibility, integrity and transparency.

"He has worked in Ireland for a decade and upon his return to Malaysia, he held various key positions in RHB Banking Group and subsequently became the group CFO in Johawaki Group of Companies.

"Prior to joining Sime Darby Oils in November 2021 as the CFO, he was the group CFO of SME Bank,” it said.

It said Haizad Rizal is a Fellow of the Institute of Chartered Accountants (ICAI), Ireland and held a BA (Hons), Accounting and Finance degree from Dublin Business Schoo.

KWAP said he has also successfully completed the Oxford Advanced Management and Leadership Programme (OAMLP) from Said Business School, University of Oxford, United Kingdom.

Meanwhile, it said Maz Mirza brought 25 years of expertise in the information technology (IT) industry and cybersecurity having previously served as the head of IT at Mass Rapid Transit Corporation (MRT Corp).

It said before joining MRT Corp, he served as the head of IT at Puspakom and prior to that was attached to several subsidiaries of Sime Darby group for a span of 13 years.

KWAP said Maz Mirza graduated with honours from the University of Cambridge in 1997 with a degree in Computer Science.

"With their wealth of experience and more importantly, their keen understanding of the need for sustainable growth, KWAP is confident that TERAS 5, which is intended to solidify KWAP’s foundation to be future-ready and grow sustainably, will be well supported and achieved with such determined and able leaders onboard,” chief executive officer Nik Amlizan Mohamed said.

TERAS 5 is a three-year programme based on elevating five enablers, namely structure, governance, people, processes and digital that will drive eight workstreams. - Bernama
