Naza partners Everest for telecom investments

PETALING JAYA: Naza Communications Sdn Bhd (NCSB) and Australia-based Everest Infrastructure Partners ANZ Pty Ltd will collaborate on investing in existing wireless telecommunications infrastructure in Malaysia.

NCSB, an integrated telecommunications infrastructure provider and wholly-owned subsidiary of the Naza Group, and Everest will also be partnering to further develop and enhance telecommunications infrastructure across the country.

Everest is focused on the acquisition and development of wireless communications towers, tower ground leases, rooftop antenna leases and other wireless communications infrastructure.

“The partnership with NCSB marks Everest’s first collaboration in South-East Asia.

“We are delighted to be doing so with a market leader with a shared vision for wireless infrastructure investment and corporate culture,” said Everest chief executive officer Will Heapy in a statement, after a memorandum of understanding (MoU) signing in Petaling Jaya yesterday.

Heapy added that both companies would identify and invest in wireless telecommunications infrastructure assets in strategic locations in Malaysia.

“This partnership will also allow Everest to maximise investments by leveraging on NCSB’s expertise and long-term relationships in the industry,” he said.

NCSB chief executive officer Darryll Sinnappa pointed out that Malaysia is poised for strong digital growth in the coming years.

“With Everest’s innovative business model and investments into this space, coupled with our local industry knowledge and expertise, we are confident we will be able to accelerate the fulfilment of the nation’s wireless network densification and infrastructure needs as Malaysia continues the journey of nationwide 5G deployment,” he said.
