MGB Bhd, a subsidiary of LBS Bina Group Bhd, has launched Idaman Melur in Cybersouth in Dengkil, Selangor – the second of six Rumah Idaman MBI projects.

The Rumah Idaman MBI projects are in partnership with Permodalan Negeri Selangor Berhad (PNSB), a state government subsidiary under the supervision of Menteri Besar Selangor Incorporated (MBI).

Idaman Melur comprises two blocks of 23-storey apartments spread across 4.9ha leasehold land with an estimated gross development value (GDV) of RM414mil.

The high-rise residential project offers three layout types with built-ups ranging from 1,000sqft.

Priced from RM250,000, Idaman Melur offers 1,448 units which come equipped with air conditioner, refrigerator, wardrobe, kitchen cabinet, TV, television cabinet and water heater.

Speaking at the launch event held at KITA @ Cybersouth Sales Gallery in Dengkil, MGB executive vice-chairman Tan Sri Lim Hock San said: “We are pleased to be a part of and to share the government’s passion in ensuring housing is made affordable and attainable by every Malaysian.

“With our extensive years of experience in construction, we are confident in delivering quality Rumah Idaman MBI homes that will raise the benchmark for affordable housing in Selangor.

“We are pleased that our internal IBS precast system is being incorporated into the Rumah Idaman MBI developments. This is aligned with our goal to become the leading housing solution provider through our IBS system.

“In the short-term, MGB’s goal is to ensure that the launch of the remaining Rumah Idaman MBI projects are on track which will subsequently pave the way for a continuous replenishment of the order book in the upcoming years.”

Since the successful launch of the first project – Idaman Bandar Saujana Putra (BSP) in October 2021 – the project proved to be a hit with a strong take-up rate. The four remaining Rumah Idaman MBI projects will be launched throughout 2023.

All Rumah Idaman MBI projects will offer a total 7,210 affordable homes constructed with MGB’s in-house Industrialised Building System (IBS) pre-cast technology, and priced from RM250,000 with three bedrooms and two bathrooms and a minimum built-up area of 1,000sqft.

The projects will be built by PCSB-MGB Consortium, a joint venture between MGB and PNSB Construction Sdn Bhd.

Present at the launch event was PNSB chief executive officer Raja Ahmad Shahrir Iskandar Raja Salim, who shared that PNSB would continue to develop Rumah Idaman in strategic and potential areas in Selangor which include the districts of Petaling, Gombak, Kuala Langat, Klang, Kuala Selangor and Sabak Bernam.

“Among the 24 projects that will be implemented by PNSB, a total of 45,760 units of Rumah Idaman will be developed together through strategic partnership collaboration.

“In previously implemented projects, 2,059 units of Idaman Abadi in Kajang 2 have been completed while 1,260 units of Idaman Bukit Jelutong are in progress. Due to the high demand, these two projects have been sold out.”

Selangor Mentri Besar Datuk Seri Amirudin Shari who officiated at the launch of Idaman Melur expressed confidence that the Rumah Idaman MBI projects would raise Selangorians’ quality of life.

“The Selangor state government is always concerned about the well-being of the people, especially in providing quality and comfortable housing alongside other essential facilities. The aim is to uplift the quality of their life.

“The strategic location of Rumah Idaman Melur, with its reasonable pricing and semi-furnished units, has become a major attraction for property buyers.

“We are confident that Rumah Idaman Melur and other Rumah Idaman MBI developments will match the housing needs of working-class individuals and young families,” said Amirudin.
