Pharmaniaga gets six-month extension for medicine supply

Pharmaniaga said the Ministry of Health has extended its unit PLSB's provision of medicines and medical supplies for another six months until June 30, 2023.

KUALA LUMPUR: Pharmaniaga Bhd’s wholly-owned subsidiary Pharmaniaga Logistics Sdn Bhd’s (PLSB) services for the provision of medicines and medical supplies to the Ministry of Health’s (MOH) facilities have been extended for another six months until June 30, 2023

In a filing with Bursa Malaysia yesterday, Pharmaniaga said PLSB received a letter from the MOH that the Public-Private Partnership Committee has agreed to extend the interim period, pending the finalisation of a new concession agreement.

“During this period, PLSB is required to implement the Pharmacy Information System and Clinic Pharmacy System maintenance, licence renewal, change request and system implementation at the new facilities based on existing operating cost rates,” it said.

Pharmaniaga added that MOH also acknowledged PLSB’s service excellence during the previous interim period.

In December 2019, MOH extended PLSB’s pharmaceutical and medical equipment concession contract, dated March 16, 2011, for an interim period of 25 months, which was to expire on Nov 30, 2019, to ensure a smooth transition to a new company.

On Dec 30, 2021, PLSB received a letter from MOH for another one-year extension until Dec 31, 2022. — Bernama
