PETALING JAYA: Sime Darby Plantation Bhd (SDP) expects to perform satisfactorily in 2023 as the labour supply issue in Malaysia eases with the arrival of more foreign workers.

Owing to the labour shortages ever since the Covid-19 pandemic, the world’s largest palm oil company by land size experienced challenges raising fresh fruit bunch (FFB) production in Malaysia particularly, the impact of which was partially compensated by better production at its operations in Indonesia and Papua New Guinea and the Solomon Islands.
