KUALA LUMPUR: YTL Power International Bhd’s net profit for the second quarter ended Dec 31, 2022 (2Q FY2023) soared to RM198.82 million from RM18.79 million in the same quarter in 2Q FY2022, due to higher earnings in the power generation division.
Revenue, however, fell by 7.9 per cent to RM4.70 billion from RM5.11 billion previously, the company said in a filing with Bursa Malaysia today.
The decrease in revenue was attributed primarily to the lower pool prices in the power generation segment and weaker project revenue recorded by the telecommunications business.
On prospects, the group expects the performance of its business segments to remain resilient due to the essential nature of its operations and will continue to closely monitor the related risks and impact on all business segments. - Bernama
