KLK appoints Shahril Ridza Ridzuan as director

KUALA LUMPUR: Kuala Lumpur Kepong Bhd has appointed Tan Sri Shahril Ridza Ridzuan as an independent and non executive director effective May 2, 2023.

Shahril, 52, is currently the chairman of Axiata Group Bhd. He also sits on the board of Ekuiti Nasional Bhd.

He was the managing director of Khazanah Nasional Bhd from August 2018 to August 2021, where he worked towards striking a balance between growing financial returns at the national sovereign fund whilst also ensuring long-term benefits for future generations of Malaysians.

Prior to that, Shahril served as chief executive officer (CEO) of the Employees Provident Fund (EPF) from April 2013 to August 2018. He joined EPF as deputy CEO (Investments) in December 2009.

During his tenure at EPF, he also served as a non-executive board member of Media Prima Bhd, Malaysia Building Society Bhd, Malaysian Resources Corp Bhd and IJN Holdings Sdn Bhd.

Shahril holds a Master of Arts from Cambridge University and a Bachelor of Civil Law from Oxford University and has been called to the Malaysian Bar and the Bar of England and Wales.
