PETALING JAYA: Malaysia International Trade and Exhibition Centre (MITEC) has strengthened its position as the choice for international organisers and planners to host global events by winning four nominated awards at the HAPA Award Malaysia Series 2023-2024.

MITEC was winner of Malaysia’s Best Tourism under the meetings, incentives, conferences and exhibitions category, as well as the HAPA Resilience Award 2023, Malaysia’s Best Hospitality & Tourism Personality for Positive Impact Leadership and HAPA Best 30 Chef’s for Master of Banquet Chef of the Year.

The awards highlight MITEC’s quality service and event management to create experiences, which includes hospitality, food and beverages and culinary expertise.

MITEC also ensured to provide safe and sustainable measures for the reopening of its venue for the business events industry after the Covid-19 pandemic recovery.

MITEC chief executive officer Mala Dorasamy has made it her top priority to deliver world-class service to clients, visitors, and the country.

In a statement, she added the MITEC team is motivated to keep pushing the bar as a venue and an important infrastructure of the city, in contributing to Kuala Lumpur’s and Malaysia’s economic impact.

Commenting on the win, PGSB Sdn Bhd board chairman Tan Sri Abdul Rahman Mamat said MITEC’s agility to overcome challenges, commitment and passion of employees are the backbone of the centre.

“The centre's unwavering commitment to recognising and nurturing talent and competency among its employees has propelled it to become Malaysia's top venue,” he added.

MITEC sits on 75.5 acres of the KL Metropolis and is one of the largest MICE venues in Southeast Asia, offering over 52,000 sq m of exhibition space and triple volume exhibition halls.
