Hong Leong Bank names Kevin Lam as group MD/CEO


KUALA LUMPUR: Hong Leong Bank Bhd (HLBB) has appointed Kevin Lam Sai Yoke as group managing director/chief executive officer (GMD/CEO) effective July 1, 2023.

Lam succeeds Domenic Fuda who will be retiring effective June 30.

“The board of directors would like to express its gratitude to Domenic for his leadership and achievements and wish him success as he embarks on the next phase of his life. The board is pleased to welcome Lam as the new GMD/CEO to lead the bank on its next phase of growth,” the bank said in a statement.

Lam has over 30 years of banking, technology and leadership experience across regional and international banks in several geographies.

Prior to joining HLBB, Lam served as the head of TMRW Group Digital Banking of United Overseas Bank Limited (UOB), for its key regional markets based in Singapore.

Prior to that, he worked in various Asean markets for a decade including in Jakarta as the president director of UOB Indonesia, and in Kuala Lumpur where he headed personal financial services at UOB Malaysia and later served as its deputy chief executive officer where he oversaw its wholesale banking business and technology and operations.

Lam holds an undergraduate degree in Business Administration from the National University of Singapore.
