Indonesia c.bank says payment system safe after reports of BSI data breach

JAKARTA: Indonesia's payment system is safe and reliable for transactions, and financial regulators would continue to ensure payment service providers meet regulatory standards, the central bank said in a statement on Wednesday.

The statement came after media reports that data of 15 million customers of one of Indonesia's top 10 lenders, Bank Syariah Indonesia (BSI), were published online.

Bank Indonesia (BI) said BSI's payment system has returned to normal under its supervision. - Reuters
