KUALA LUMPUR: Trading could pick up in the companies with recent corporate announcements including Scientex Packaging, Astro, Singature International, MyNews, Reservoir Link Energy, MGB and Mah Sing, said Apex Research.

Scientex Packaging (Ayer Keroh) Bhd’s 3QFY23 net profit fell 1.64% to RM10.1 million.

Astro Malaysia Holdings Bhd’s 1QFY24 net profit dropped 84% to RM15.9 million.

Signature International Bhd is selling its aluminium and façade businesses for RM17.53 million.

MyNews Holding Bhd narrowed its net loss to RM6.28 million in 2QFY23.

Reservoir Link Energy Bhd's 51%-owned unit has secured three solar contracts worth RM18.1 million.

MGB Bhd has won a contract for a development project in Sepang valued at RM156.83 million.

Mah Sing Group Bhd is buying a 500-acre freehold land in Semenyih for RM392.04 million.

Overnight, the US market was closed while European markets dropped after UK government bond yields hit a 15-year high as the Bank of England is expected to raise interest rates on Thursday.

"Following the recent flattish performance, the FBM KLCI could remain sideways between its support of 1,372 points and resistance of 1,392 points," said Apex.
