MyHSR Corp appoints Fauzi Abdul Rahman as chairman

KUALA LUMPUR: MyHSR Corp Sdn Bhd (MyHSR Corp) has appointed Datuk Seri Fauzi Abdul Rahman as non-executive chairman effective June 22, 2023.

In a statement today, the company said Fauzi served on the board of Malaysia Rail Link Sdn Bhd (MRL) between 2018 and 2021 and is well-versed in the development and challenges within the industry.

MyHSR Corp chief executive officer Datuk Mohd Nur Ismal Mohamed Kamal said Fauzi’s expertise and experience will steer MyHSR Corp to realise the high-speed rail (HSR) project.

"As we embark on this new chapter for the project, his long history of astute leadership and unwavering commitment will strengthen our resolve in bringing the project to fruition for the benefit of the country and the people,” he said in the statement.

The statement said Fauzi held senior positions in various ministries and was Deputy Minister in the Prime Minister’s department between 1997 and 1999. He was Kuantan’s member of parliament (MP) between 1990 and 1999 and Indera Mahkota MP between 2013 and 2018.

In addition, Fauzi chairs the board of two private companies.

MyHSR Corp is a company incorporated in 2015 and is wholly owned by Minister of Finance (Incorporated). It is under the supervision of the Transport Ministry. The company is responsible for developing and implementing the HSR project. - Bernama
