Perodua records 13% increase in vehicle sales in 1H

Zainal said Perodua expects both production and sales to continue their uptrend as demand for its vehicles remain healthy.

KUALA LUMPUR: The sales of Perodua vehicles rose 13.6% year-on-year (y-o-y) to 144,690 units in the first half of 2023 (1H23) on the back of a 17% y-o-y increase in production to 153,813 vehicles.

“The higher production and sales performance for the 1H23 were due to better supply of parts as well as improved production efficiency at our manufacturing plant,” said Perodua president and chief executive officer Datuk Sri Zainal Abidin Ahmad in a statement yesterday.
