Subsidy rationalisation requires a rethink


With many criteria to be fulfilled, perhaps the government should not even look at targeted subsidies as a way to do away with subsidies but implement a market-based fuel price over a given time frame.

BUDGET 2024 will likely be tabled on Oct 13, 2023, just about eight months after the tabling of Budget 2023.

This will be after the tabling of the New Industrial Master Plan 2030 next month and the 12th Malaysian Plan Mid-Term Review in September.
