Trading ideas: Stella, Kinergy Advancement, Dayang, Solarvest, Bintai Kinden Corp


KUALA LUMPUR: Stocks to watch on Friday include Stella Holdings Bhd, Kinergy Advancement Bhd, Dayang Enterprise Holdings Bhd, Solarvest Holdings Bhd and Bintai Kinden Corp Bhd, according to Apex Securities.

Stella bagged a RM91.36mil sub-contract for a medium-cost apartment project in Seberang Perai Tengah, Penang.

Kinergy Advancement’s unit has signed a heads of agreement with a China-based entity to start its first biomass plant in Kulim, Kedah.

Dayang’s contract to provide upstream oil and gas support services to Roc Oil (Sarawak) Sdn Bhd has been extended by almost 1½ years.

Solarvest’s unit has signed an agreement to collaborate with PKNS to install residential solar solutions.

Bintai Kinden said TNB has terminated two contracts awarded to its subsidiary due to its inability to continue performing the contractual obligations.

Overnight, the US market rose overnight after June PPI data was lower than expected, easing concerns of further aggressive interest rate hikes.

Similarly, European markets also climbed after US inflation was cooler than estimate and the UK’s May GDP declined.

The Dow Jones Industrial Average added 47.71 points, or 0.14%, to close at 34,395.14. The S&P 500 climbed 0.85% to 4,510.04, while Nasdaq Composite advanced 1.58% to end at 14,138.57.

“Following the recent rebound, the FBM KLCI could take a breather and consolidate below the resistance of 1,437 points,” Apex said.
