Harn Len explores partnership in pineapple plantation business


KUALA LUMPUR: Harn Len Corp Bhd has entered into an agreement with Jutawan Enterprise to explore a collaboration in the pineapple plantation business.

In a statement, Harn Len said a partnership would allow it to participate in the development and management of pineapples without worrying about sales as Jutawan is the largest exporter of pineapple product in the local area.

It added that Jutawan was also aiming to secure more fruit products to stabilise and strengthen its supply chain, as it is one of the major fruit exporters to the Middle East.

Harn Len chief operating officer Low Yew Yern said pineapple plantations typically have a shorter crop life cycle compared to oil palm plantations, which may accelerate income generation.

“This is in line with the growth and business strategy of Harn Len as the company has completed the Rompin land acquisition on June,” he said.
