KUALA LUMPUR: Stocks to watch for on Thursday include Berjaya Corp, Berjaya Food, DNeX, HHRG and Bumi Armada, said Apex Research.
Berjaya Corp Bhd has increased its stake in Berjaya Food Bhd (BFood) to 55.31% from 52.86%.
Dagang Nexchange Bhd (DNeX) has proposed a private placement to raise up to RM133.44 million as funding for the expansion of its oil and gas segment.
HHRG Bhd is buying Kulim Property Sdn Bhd (KPSB) for RM4.5 million.
Bumi Armada Bhd has signed a non-binding agreement with PT Pertamina International Shipping and PT Davenergy Mulia Perkasa (DMP) for the development and commercialisation of liquefied natural gas (LNG) in the Madura gas field in Indonesia.
Meanwhile, the U.S. stock market was flat overnight after August CPI was higher than expected.
Going forward, investors will be waiting for today’s release of August producer price index, which is expected to rise 0.4% by economists.
On the domestic front, the FBM KLCI was flat after adding 0.15 points or 0.01% to 1453.54 points.
"The FBM KLCI may continue to trade sideways and remain below the resistance level of 1,465 points, which has been a barrier for the index since July," said Apex.
