Astro acquires award-winning Basecamp Films

KUALA LUMPUR: Astro Malaysia Holdings Bhd’s wholly owned subsidiary Astro Productions Sdn Bhd (APSB), has entered into an asset purchase agreement with Basecamp Films Sdn Bhd, an award-winning visual post-production studio.

As part of the agreement, Basecamp Films’ staff and their expertise, experience and assets will be integrated within APSB to form a new unit, Astro Sound+Vision, designed to build the future of post-production for Astro and the industry.

“Astro Sound+Vision is being set up to offer a full suite of world-class audio and visual post-production services for video content including films; and TV series, shows and commercials.

“We have long been impressed by the quality and passion of the Basecamp team and are very happy to be integrating their skills into our operations. Through our expanded Sound+Vision unit, Astro is extremely well placed to deliver international standards of quality and finishing of video content for both Astro and external parties,” group chief executive officer Euan Smith said in a statement.
