Labour shortage issue over for Sime Darby Plantation


The plantations group reported a net profit of RM1.21bil for the third quarter.

PETALING JAYA: Sime Darby Plantation Bhd is reaping the benefits of months of rehabilitation efforts with an increased workforce turning around its upstream domestic operations in its third quarter of its financial year.

Group managing director Datuk Mohamad Helmy Othman Basha said with the labour shortage over, the focus is no reducing the long-term dependence on manual labour through mechanisation, automation and digitalisation.
