KUALA LUMPUR: Bursa Malaysia finished lower for the third consecutive day, bucking the performance of its regional peers.
The FBM KLCI closed down 3.64 points, or 0.25% at 1,445.82.
Across the broader market, losers outnumbered gainers 452 to 365, with 2.8 billion securities worth RM1.8bil changing hands.
The top loser on the local bourse was Nestle. The counter slid 70 sen to RM114.30. Eurospan fell 44 sen to RM1.11, F&N lost 38 sen to RM27.26 and Hextar Technologies gave up 32 sen to RM22.28.
Rapid, on the other hand, bagged the biggest gains, rising 70 sen to RM28.70. EG Industries rose 19 sen to RM1.68, Kotra added 14 sen to RM4.79 and Carlsberg gained 14 sen to RM19.12.
Elsewhere in the region, markets finished broadly higher.
Hong Kong’s Hang Seng Index rose 0.83%, Japan’s Nikkei 225 gained 2.04%, South Korea’s Kospi Composite Index closed up 0.04% and China’s CSI 300 added 0.16%.
