Sunway redeems sukuk in advance

PETALING JAYA: Sunway Bhd has bought back and cancelled its perpetual sukuk amounting to RM200mil issued under series six of the sukuk programme prior to the first call date on March 18, 2025.

The group had established a perpetual Islamic medium term note programme of up to RM5bil in nominal value in 2017.

In a filing with Bursa Malaysia, Sunway said it redeemed the perpetual sukuk of RM200mil issued under series two via optional redemption on its first call date. There is no outstanding perpetual sukuk under the sukuk programme after the buy-back and redemption.
