Sapura Energy appoints Shahin Farouque to the board


KUALA LUMPUR: Sapura Energy Bhd has appointed Shahin Farouque Jammal Ahmad as non-independent non-executive director, with effect from Dec 15, 2023.

In a statement, the group said Shahin Farouque, who has 20 years of investment banking experience, brings with him the knowledge and experience in corporate restructuring, investment banking and strategy that will be beneficial for the company to build a robust debt restructuring and regularisation plan.

Shahin Farouque is currently the group head, Strategic Investments of Permodalan Nasional Bhd (PNB).

Prior to PNB, he was an executive director in the Investment Division of Khazanah Nasional Bhd, and sat on the boards of various creative and media companies within the Khazanah portfolio.

Sapura Energy chairman Datuk Mohammad Azlan Abdullah said: "We are extremely pleased Shahin is coming onboard Sapura Energy.

"The board, leadership team, and I look forward to leveraging his wisdom and experience to navigate the success of our debt restructuring plan and chart the course for the future of our business."
