PETALING JAYA: The fourth-generation Hyundai Tucson has been unveiled in Malaysia with prices starting from RM158,888, not including insurance.

Fully imported from South Korea by Hyundai-Sime Darby Motors (HSDM), the Tucson comes in three variants – 2.0 Lite, 1.6T Plus and 1.6T Max. All three variants are front-wheel drive.

The new Tucson is HSDM’s key entrant in the competitive compact sport utility vehicle (C-SUV) segment.

The 2.0 Lite variant is priced at RM158,888 and paired with a six-speed automatic transmission.

The 1.6T Plus variant is priced at RM178,888, while the 1.6T Max is priced at RM195,888.

Each Tucson has features including seven airbags, an electronic parking brake with auto hold, blind spot collision warning and safe exit warning. It also comes with a fully digital instrument panel, power tailgate, auto wipers, wireless phone charging and a SmartSense safety suite.

Available colours are Amazon Gray Metallic, Phantom Black Pearl, Creamy White Pearl, Crimson Red Pearl and Silky Bronze Metallic.

Sime Darby Motors managing director for South-East Asia Jeffrey Gan said over seven million units of Tucson were sold globally since its inception in 2004, making it Hyundai’s best-selling SUV model.

“This fourth-generation model brings the game to new heights, expanding upon the distinctive style, ergonomic practicality, clever packaging and advanced technology that the nameplate is known for,” he said.
