TNB in Trina Solar clean energy tie-up

TNB CEO Baharin said the partnership with Trina Solar is pivotal to harnessing solar energy potential in the country.

KUALA LUMPUR: Tenaga Nasional Bhd (TNB) is maintaining its momentum in driving sustainable energy transition with a strategic alliance between its wholly-owned subsidiary, GSPARX Sdn Bhd, and Trina Solar – the leading global photovoltaic and smart energy total solutions provider.

“This alliance highlights our unwavering commitment to accelerating Malaysia’s energy transition goals,” TNB president and chief executive officer Datuk Seri Baharin Din said in a statement yesterday.

He said this partnership with Trina Solar is pivotal in harnessing solar energy potential in the country and “driving us closer to achieving net-zero 2050 through sustainable practices.”

The formalisation of the partnership was marked by the exchange of a memorandum of understanding between the managing director of GSPARX Elmie Fairul Mashuri and Elva Wang, the general manager (South-East Asia) of Trina Solar Energy Development.

Trina Solar’s collaboration with GSPARX would bolster technical capabilities and overcome challenges in solar rooftop projects. — Bernama
